# How to correctly use VPN tunnel with rtorrent-Pro?

1. Open QTS Managment Panel and go into App Center

2. Install QVPN2 service

3. Once QVPN2 service was installed please follow official QNAP guide about QVPN2

In final step you have to add VPN Client profiles:

4. In the next step open rtorrent-Pro settings and click REFRESH IP LIST button in Network Connection section

5. Wait few seconds...
6. You should see a list of IP interfaces including VPN tunnels. Select desired VPN interface from the list and click SAVE CHANGES button.

7. Now you have to wait something about 2 minutes until new IP will be present in Advanced UI (refresh manually to see change)

NOTE: If you see VPN real IP this means your VPN tunnel is working now correctly. This IP is probed by a client which means is a real IP of outgoing traffic by rtorrent-Pro.
8. Proof?
Open [Check your torrent IP](http://checkmyip.torrentprivacy.com/) site and click "**Download test torrent file** ![](https://forum.qnap.net.pl/attachments/24987/) " and save it in watch directory of rtorrent-Pro.
Don't close this site yet!
In a couple of seconds your outgoing IP should be displayed:

**NOTE:**
Please DO NOT close VPN tunnel in QVPN2 service otherwise rtorrent-Pro will fallback to default interface since bind IP interface will be lost. Keep it always enabled even if your service provider is currently unreachable.
