# RSS rules are lost after chaning user name

**Symptoms:**
RSS rules are lost after changing login user name

**Cause:**
Different user profile was found and it's all settings restored.

**Understand:**

- Rtorrent-Pro by default uses `rtorrent` login name - we call this profile. In that profile user has configured some settings and added one intial RSS rule.
- Later admin decided to change its login name from `rtorrent` to `xyz`. That means it's previous profile has changed from `rtorrent` to `xyz`. All is fine, settings are kept including RSS rule.
- After an rtorrent-Pro upgrade or reinstalling it again to perform password recovery, rtorrent initiates with default `rtorrent` profile to login where no RSS rules are configured.

**Scenarios:**
Two scenarios may happen now.

1. User configured RSS rules in `rtorrent` profile. Once he changed user name again to the previous profile `xyz` an old profile was restored with old settings including RSS rules.
2. User forgot his old profile name or changed name to `abc` instead to `xyz`. So the current settings from `rtorrent` profile was applied.

**Solution:**

- Restore old user profile to revert all settings by changing user name to old profile name.

To find an old profile navigate into `Download` share then into `rtorrent/settings/users` or `Rdownload` share and `settings/users`:

Please find one active profile: `rtorrent` directory (there might be more) and two profile backups `rtorrent` and `silas`.

**NOTE:** Please backup whole directory before doing any changes.
