[Description]
Dropbox is a Web-based file hosting service operated by Dropbox, Inc. which uses cloud computing to enable users to store and share files and folders with others across the Internet using file synchronization. There are both free and paid services, each with varying options. Dropbox offers a relatively large number of user clients across a variety of desktop and mobile operating systems. There are a total of 10 clients, including versions for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux (official and unofficial[5]), as well as versions for mobile devices, such as Android, iPhone, iPad and BlackBerry, and a web-based client for when no local client is installed. Dropbox uses the Freemium financial model and its free service provides 2 GB of free online storage.

[Information]
This QPKG is for Intel QNAP series ONLY (x39 and x59 series, 509 and 809), as Dropbox does not provide binaries that are capable to work with the ARM-cpu. Please do not request for it here, as i simply can't provide for it until dropbox releases an arm based build....

[installation instructions]
1. First install and enable the Optware QPKG (Mandatory!)
2. Have a share called Dropbox (this is mandatory, NOTICE the capital "D")
3. Install and enable the Dropbox qpkg. (You can safely upgrade your current Dropbox QPKG with this package so no need to uninstall the old one first)

The dropbox service will create a dropbox_status.txt file in you Public share. It will fill this file with status messages, open it with Wordpad or another text editor capable of reading linux based files and copy the the registration url out of it.
Log in to your account on http://www.dropbox.com with your favorite browser and then paste this url, to have the QNAP linked to your account. If you reopen the dropbox_status.txt file you should see that the last line is a welcome message and that the device is registered correctly.

do NOT stop the service before registering the QNAP with your Dropbox account, because every time you restart the Dropbox service before it is linked to your account, it will create a new unique registration number, which you need to copy out of the status file again, etc. (very annoying).

keep an eye on the dropbox_status.txt file. it should be empty every time you start Dropbox, and stay empty if there are no new messages. any errors should be logged into this file.

Current version
Dropbox v1.2.52 (X86 ONLY) (Mirror location)

Previous version
Dropbox v1.1.45 (X86 ONLY) (Mirror location)

[Fixed issue's / remarks]
V1.2.52 (20-03-2012)
1. a new dropbox build, fixing the mess the autoupgrade feature made again

V1.1.45 (03-09-2011)
(besides using a new build of dropbox)
1. Fixes the broken autoupgrade dropbox decided to perform last night.

V1.1.40R2 (21-08-2011)
1. Made upgrading from a failed 1.1.35 installation more robust. Hopefully this qpkg works for everybody

V1.1.40 (21-08-2011)
(besides using a new build of dropbox)
1. Fixed the issue on clean install where Dropbox was using a wrong location of the database. Sorry for not fixing this sooner. Somehow dropbox not always adhere's to the $HOME variable, when installed through the gui. Double checked the clean install via gui, so it should be allright now...

V1.1.35
(besides using a new build of dropbox)
1. Rewritten the dropbox qpkg to no longer use the root folder for storing stuff. Everything is now stored in a "root" folder in the qpkg folder itself
2. It no longer uses the Python qpkg, instead it will install python via optware istself if needed
3. It will also install sqlite via optware to make the needed changes to the dropbox database during installation
4. As this is a completely new qpkg, please use with caution, and watch the forum for bugs that may arise. I've tested the best i could, and both a clean install and upgrade worked, but i might have missed something ofcourse

V1.0.20R2
1. Added support for TS-559 and higher with 64-bit kernel

V1.0.20
(besides using a new build)

1. Fixed the removal of readlink symlink on deinstallation of dropbox (sorry for that)
2. Removed a bug from the Dropbox.sh script which would in turn cause startup issues on some nas systems.
3. Added Dropbox Icons.

V1.0.10
(besides using a new build)
1. Added another symlink to /root (dropbox-dist-new) that should catch any unexpected upgrade that Dropbox might push. This should fix the issue that the ramdrive fills up, which could crash your nas.
2. Made it possible to upgrade the previous version by this new QPKG. (so no need to reregister)

Let me know any issue's other then the one below.
