Hello:

yesterday I upgrade the firmware of my Qnap to the latest version and when the NAS restart rtorrent doesn't work; so I decide to delete and reinstall rtorrent to the last version rtorrent_0.9.6-0319-170319_x86_64
Previously I change the ubication of rtorrent directory to another place. After that I install rtorrent and the message I get is "Error 29/03/2017 23:19:39 rtorrent 127.0.0.1 localhost (err!) rtorrent: Unable to create user/group 'rtorrent'. Cannot continue!" The installation ends up but rtorrent doesn't work

Actually I see under /share/Download/rtorrent so I don't understand why I get the message I put up

Those are the crash report I got when rtorrent crash before reinstalling

rtorrent execute log

Wersja oprogramowania Firmware: 4.3.3.0136 Build 20170328 Beta2
Model serwera: QNAP TS251A

So, should I downgrade to the previous firm as rumpi did or wait until a new version of rtorrent appears because last one seems not to be compatible with last Qnap beta firm?

@pawurb1978 could you tell me the exact route to this file, that's what I've founded "/share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/rtorrent/etc"

Actually I can´t see the route you are telling me /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/rtorrent/etc/group
Should I to create under etc a directory named group and inside this rtorrent?

I suppose you're working with latest beta firmware....

FW 4.3.3. but what beta?, doesn't work "Build 20170328 Beta2" no problem with 20170216-4.3.3.0095

Anyway I can't found the route you're telling me;-( could you write the complete route?

I've found this path: /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/rtorrent/etc so I've to create a folder named group, that's it ok?

The FW you tell me is not the same, mine is Build 20170328 Beta2 and yours is FW 4.3.3 0127 20.03.2017

I use SSH because I can not set up a group with QTS. What's more, SSH can not be used to create a grouping command. In my opinion this is a problem and not rtorrent itself. I checked that in this case the problem solved the addition of an entry in the file "group" itself.
With this group created, rtorrent starts correctly.
