Ale wcześniej powiedz mi czy nie orientujesz się jaki tam DOM jest. Czy USB, IDE czy SATA...
W najgorszym wypadku wyśle Ci nowego DOM'a... np. kątowego IDE z TheCus'a...
[2014-12-14 17:34:11] Ad`Novea Laurent: Hi silas
[2014-12-14 17:43:53] Silas Mariusz: hey hey
[2014-12-14 17:43:53] Silas Mariusz:
[2014-12-14 17:50:13] Ad`Novea Laurent: Silas Sorry to bother on a sunday
[2014-12-14 17:51:40] Ad`Novea Laurent: My production server failed on the DOM
I got
error: out of partition
grub rescue>
Any idea how I could restore the backup partition on the DOM (I know there one active and one backup partition on the DOM of TS-469 Pro but my knowledge is a bit limited
[2014-12-14 17:53:48] Silas Mariusz: I think firmware reflash might help you
[2014-12-14 17:54:11] Ad`Novea Laurent: But I cannot boot the NAS so I can't reflash the F/W
[2014-12-14 17:54:49] Ad`Novea Laurent: I need to boot on the backup partition of the DOM but I don't see a way to do this
[2014-12-14 18:07:52] Silas Mariusz: the best would be to boot the NAS from USB stick device or any booting device
[2014-12-14 18:08:00] Silas Mariusz: and use dd command
[2014-12-14 18:08:20] Silas Mariusz: if=img of=/dev/dom
[2014-12-14 18:08:55] Ad`Novea Laurent: yes I tried but my USB had a ubuntu and the TS-469 crashed
[2014-12-14 18:10:26] Silas Mariusz: maybe I was not very clear, but...
[2014-12-14 18:10:36] Silas Mariusz: find a way to boot ts-469 from an external device (USB)
[2014-12-14 18:10:38] Ad`Novea Laurent: may be sorry
[2014-12-14 18:10:38] Silas Mariusz: with any linux
[2014-12-14 18:10:57] Silas Mariusz: and make sure DOM is installed on the TS-469 board
[2014-12-14 18:11:23] Silas Mariusz: when you boot any nomatter what version of linux from USB stick, you'll be able to copy 1:1 full_firmware flash img directly to the DOM device
[2014-12-14 18:12:01] Silas Mariusz:
Bash:
dd if=F_TS....img of=/dev/sda
[2014-12-14 18:12:12] Ad`Novea Laurent: Ok as I sais on a USB key I have an ubuntu and tried to boot the NAS on the USB key but it failed.
Which distribution do you recommand with a NAS
[2014-12-14 18:12:13] Silas Mariusz: where /dev/sda must be your DOM
[2014-12-14 18:13:38] Silas Mariusz: grab this software
[2014-12-14 18:13:39] Silas Mariusz: UNetbootin - Homepage and Downloads
[2014-12-14 18:14:11] Silas Mariusz: and using UNetbootin make a bootable USB stick: http://distro.ibiblio.org/damnsmall/current/dsl-4.4.10-initrd.iso
[2014-12-14 18:14:18] Ad`Novea Laurent: Great I'll try
[2014-12-14 18:14:41] Silas Mariusz:
[2014-12-14 18:15:20] Silas Mariusz: is that DOM on a IDE or USB?
[2014-12-14 18:15:32] Ad`Novea Laurent: USB
[2014-12-14 18:15:42] Ad`Novea Laurent: a small module plug on the MB
[2014-12-14 18:16:08] Silas Mariusz: you'll need to locate it in /dev/
[2014-12-14 18:20:35] Ad`Novea Laurent: It's on the way
[2014-12-14 18:24:31] Ad`Novea Laurent: Once copied, what do you have in mind to recover the partition
[2014-12-14 18:24:47] Ad`Novea Laurent: Sorry my connection is slow and I'm still loading the IMG
[2014-12-14 18:24:55] Silas Mariusz: img is full copy of the dom (marked F_*.img)
[2014-12-14 18:25:18] Silas Mariusz: so when you execute DD comand your dom will be restored to the factory one
[2014-12-14 18:25:41] Ad`Novea Laurent: but with the corrupted partition then !
[2014-12-14 18:26:09] Silas Mariusz: F_*.img is a copy of whole device - not just one partition
[2014-12-14 18:26:36] Ad`Novea Laurent: so i must redo the DOM partition to fix problem first
[2014-12-14 18:26:39] Silas Mariusz: you must perform dd's output to whole device eg. /dev/sda and not /dev/sda1 /dev/sda2...
[2014-12-14 18:27:00] Silas Mariusz: dd from file to dom device eg. /dev/sda
[2014-12-14 18:27:08] Ad`Novea Laurent: ok

[2014-12-14 18:29:06] Silas Mariusz: wish you success

[2014-12-14 21:20:41] Silas Mariusz: did you fix it'?
[2014-12-15 07:54:43] Ad`Novea Laurent: I finally focused on Setting up the temporary server because it was mandatory to make data available for people on Monday morning. I want to send the DOM to QNAP for deeper analysis. BTW, I ask QNAP to send me a fresh image to flash a USB key with and try to reboot. Your advice help me to understand the workaround.
[2014-12-15 07:55:45] Ad`Novea Laurent: Silas, I appreciated your help and quick response yesterday.
Have a nice week.
[2014-12-15 18:34:18] Ad`Novea Laurent: Hi Silas, Jason told me to do the same as you did so I tried to flash the DOM byt DSL crashes so no luck this way. I remove the DOM and tried to flash it externally but I got a "Ready for test v1.2.8" display on the LCD and a console on HDMI. I'm still stuck.
[2014-12-16 11:59:46] Ad`Novea Laurent: Hi Silas, I finally recover my NAS.
The wiki recovery failed and the DOM image on Internet was not working (got a LCD with Ready for Test v1.2.8)
Hopefully in Jan 2012 I did a n image of my DOM and I flashed the DOM on my PC. Everything back to normal.
Except that I don't call this a normal way to recover data for SOHO/SMB NAS - I'm sharing a piece of my mind with QNAP.
[2014-12-16 12:34:01] Silas Mariusz: "The wiki recovery failed and the DOM image on Internet was not working (got a LCD with Ready for Test v1.2.8)"
[2014-12-16 12:34:02] Silas Mariusz: yes
[2014-12-16 12:34:10] Silas Mariusz: and now when you succeded with restory procedure, you must flash standard firmware file using initialization method
[2014-12-16 12:34:16] Ad`Novea Laurent: done
[2014-12-16 12:34:16] Ad`Novea Laurent: disk are back
[2014-12-16 12:34:54] Ad`Novea Laurent: you were right on the process, only the image on the wiki was not suitable for my NAS . Don't ask me why?
[2014-12-16 12:35:02] Ad`Novea Laurent: Mistery of NAS !
[2014-12-16 12:35:35] Silas Mariusz:
[2014-12-16 12:36:00] Ad`Novea Laurent: Many thanks Silas for you quick support, You knwo how much we are stress in such situation
[2014-12-16 12:36:11] Silas Mariusz:
[2014-12-16 12:36:20] Ad`Novea Laurent: Of course I had backup but they finally turned to be imcomplete
[2014-12-16 12:36:40] Ad`Novea Laurent: One important folder was not saved for a month.
[2014-12-16 12:36:59] Ad`Novea Laurent: So I was in the mess despite I tried to make think right
[2014-12-16 12:37:27] Ad`Novea Laurent: It difficult to cover 100% of thez risk and the remain 10% may really bring a big mess
[2014-12-16 12:37:57] Ad`Novea Laurent: Have a nice and talk to you soon
[2014-12-16 12:38:00] Ad`Novea Laurent: take care

[2015-01-01 10:16:13] Ad`Novea Laurent: Happy New Year and best wishes...
I powiem Wam czemu tak się dzieje... Ten QNAP jako IEI Corp. i Intel, mają podpisaną umowę z Apacerem i Transcendent'em. Kiedyś Transcendent był niezawodny, ale teraz nie jest.
Pamiętam 3 lata temu, dostałem gift z QNAP'a... Wyobraźcie sobie pendrive 16GB firmy Transcendent z logo Q o zapierających w dech piersiach transferze: 3MB/s - nazywałem go Turbo USB 1.0.
