Pomoc Problem z smbd, uzyciem procka i spadkiem wydajności

Witam. Mam problemz 269L i firmware 4.1. Od czasu do czasu (przewaznie) gdy probuje cos kopiowac z nas na komputer osiagam predkosc okolo 6MB/s :/ Podczas wystepowania problemu proces smbd zuzywa 100% cpu i pluje w dmesg jakimis errorami ktore zalaczam ponizej. Dyski niby sa kompatybilne i nie posiadaja zadnych bad sectorow. Jezeli macie jakis pomysl co moze byc przyczyna, lub jakie logi jeszcze moge dodac aby lepiej mozna bylo zdiagnozowac problem to bylbym bardzo wdzieczny bo juz mi na niego siily brak... :/

Wyłącz wszystkie możliwe usługi serwerowe pozostawiając jedynie sieć Microsoft, bibliotekę multimedialną i aplikacje uruchomione w serwerze. Przeprowadź test ponownie.

Nie mam zadnego ssd wiec i ssd cache tez nie. Moje dyski to Toshiba DT01ACA300 (3TB) + Seagate ST31000333AS (1TB) oba standardowe sata. Z serwisow mam praktycznie wszystko powylaczane jako iz traktuje tego NAS jedynie jako storage. Moge zrobić reseta, ale pochodzi chwile i podobne logi zaczna sie pojawiac dmesg.

Zastanawiają mnie troche te czesci loga:

md/raid1:md323: active with 1 out of 2 mirrors

Oczywiscie moge sie mylic, ale wyglada to tak jakby mialby tam byc RAID 1 i sie w kolko naprawial..

Zastanawiam się czy wogole to jest wporzadku ze pokazuje mi tam dwa dyski. Nigdy na nim nie chcialem zadnego RAID, mam dwa osobne voluminy...

Podoba mi się Twoja dedukcja, ale kwestia raidów nie jest problemem słabej wydajności.

Już wytłumaczę Ci dlaczego...

Otóż każdy dysk zainstalowany w serwerze QNAP jest podzielony na cztery partycje. Widoczna przestrzeń dla użytkownika to partycje sd?3.

Na pozostałych jest poszczególnie utworzony RAID 1, kolejno:

• md9 dla partycji sd?1: sda1, sdb1, ...,
• md5 dla partycji sd?2: sda2, sdb3, ...,
• oraz np. SWAP md13 dla partycji sd?4: sda4, sdb4, ...

Na partycjach pierwszej i drugiej znajduje się zmirrorowany system oraz pliki konfiguracyjne. Wszystkie te partycję mogą być w trybie zdegradowanym, ponieważ jak zauważyłeś oczekują na przyłączenie/zainstalowanie nowych(dodatkowych) dysków, na które te dane mają zostać powielone.


Wracając do problemów prędkości...

Częste problemy:

• Przede wszystkim upewnij się, że Twój interfejs sieciowy pracuje w trybie gigabit - pamiętaj, że niektóre interfejsy sieciowe pracujące w trybie 100mbit mogą generować takie samo obciążenie programowe co w przypadku pracy 1Gbit.
• Jeśli serwer jest spięty z Twoim komputerem przez router (który programowo przerzuca dane pomiędzy interfejsami), to natychmiastowo odłącz ten router i zestaw komputer bezpośrednio z serwerem. W praktyce najlepiej sprawdza się zainstalowanie switcha Gigabit i wpięcie go do routera, a wszystkie inne urządzenia do tego switcha. Twoje dane będą przerzucane przez przełącznik sprzętowy, zamiast obciążać programowo procesor routera.
• Koniecznie wyłączyć wszystkie antywirusy i firewall'e zainstalowane na sprzęcie.

Diagnostyka:

• Zainstaluj QNAP Diagnostic Tool i za pomocą File System Analyzera dokonaj pomiaru prędkości
  
• Z konsoli dokonaj pomiaru prędkości zapisu dysku twardego z włączonymi usługami:
  

  time dd if=/dev/zero of=/share/Public/2g bs=1M count=2048; time sync

  Następnie wyłącz wszystkie usługi i wykonaj ponownie:
  

  /etc/init.d/services.sh stop
  time dd if=/dev/zero of=/share/Public/2g bs=1M count=2048; time sync

  Prędkość [MB/s] = 2048 / real[seconds]

Daj znać co Ci tam wyszło...

PS. To nie Ty chciałeś kiedyś nowego rtorrenta? Jak się uporasz z prędkościami to zapraszam do testowania rtorrent [x86]

Dziękuję za wyczerpującą odpowiedź. Podczas spadku wydajności sprawdziłem prędkość zapisu / odczytu bezpośrednio na NAS i predkości były normalne ( > 90MB/s) pomimo tego ze upload na kompa nadal był słaby i często zrywało połączenie całkowicie.

Zmiana portu nic nie pomogła, restart "pudełka" tak. Może teraz poczekam aż znowu się problem pojawi i sprawdzę czy wszystko wroci do normy po restarcie samej samby.. Wygląda na to że raczej ona sprawia problem, lub coś co jest z nią połączone. Sprawdzę jeszcze może czy tylko połączenie między NAS na Windowsem ma problem, czy problem występuje też pomiędzy NAS a Linuxem.

PozdrawiamTemat można uznać za zamknięty. Po zainstalowaniu firmware 4.07 póki co problem nie instnieje.
Dzięki jeszcze raz za zainteresowanie.

Witam,

Ostatnio cieszyłem się chwiłe że problem został rozwiązay niestety, po chwili użytkowania wszystko wróciło znowu do "normy" i samba poraz kolejny ma oszałamiające prędkości transferu na poziomie 1MB/s.

Problem występuje tylko i wyłączni z samba. Gdy uzywam ftp podczas gdy samba się dławi, prędkość jest normalna. Kopiowanie z jednego dysku na drugi przez konsole też idzie standardowo pełną mocą...

Podpowiedzcie co jeszcze można zrobić z tą samba bo nawet najbardziej cierpliwego człowieka chyba potrafiłaby wyprowadzić z równowagi

Zgadza się, czasem w sambie mam predkosc ~100MB/s, często jednak łapie zwieche i prędkość spada do ~1MB/s przy 100% użyciu procesora. Problem tylko i wyłącznie z sambą

Hmmm. Będę strzelał z pewnym przypuszczeniem.... Używasz Transmission?

Musze Ci powiedzieć, że ostatnio natknąłem się na podobne "przytkane" gardło na SMB, które po kilkudziesięciu megabajtów sukcesywnie przyśpieszało. I było to kilka minut po pewnych eksperymentach w trakcie prac nad kolejną wersją rtorrenta. Do rtorrent'a wprowadziłem funkcję, która jest do włączenia tylko dla ekspertów.

(definicja _SOCK_BUF_SIZE znajduje się w opisach na zamieszczonym zdjęciu z rtorrent'a i jest niedostępna dla przeciętnego użytkownika)

Ale jak przypuszczam chłopaki w Transmission mogli bez wiedzy do skryptu uruchamiającego wklepać stałe wartości. Zobacz czy nie ma czegoś podobnego w skrypcie uruchamiającym:

Ale to tylko przypuszczenie.

Cztery te linie totalnie skomentuj albo wyrzuć Najlepiej to całego tego Transmission wyrzuć.

Nie zapomnij zrestartować serwera przed testami.

Wygląda na to że problem został rozwiązany

Po dwóch dniach spędzonych na #samba i regularnie powtarzaniu problemu okazało się że jednak ktoś tam jest na kanale

Po przestudjowaniu mojego configa smb, polecił mi dwie rzeczy:
1. Zmiana "use sendfile" na "no"
2. Wyrzucić z configa opcję max protocol = xxx, bo wtedy się sam wynegocjuje.. (mam NT1)

Po tym zabiegu prędkość idzie pełną parą, a użycie CPU spadło do ok 13% (nigdy nie widzialem mniej niż 60% napewno, bardziej koło 80%, nawet gdy chodziło szybko)

Mam nadzieję że tak już zostanie na zawszę

Później to już próbowałem to zrobić metodą brute-force, ale i tak od zawsze co pamiętam to użycie procka było bardzo wysokie przy odczycie...

Jakoś nie przekonuje mnie to rozwiązanie z dwóch powodów:
1. Cofanie się protokołem wstecz nigdy nie jest rozwiązaniem
2. Korzystam z smb2 na TS-509 Pro i transfer plasuje się pomiędzy 65 MB/s a 85 MB/s. Żeby było ciekawiej smb 1.0 sięga 35-55 MB/s.

Prędzej bym szukał aplikacji w systemie mającej wpływ na zwolnienie transferów SMB.

p.s Czy Ty wogóle kiedyś śpisz?

Jak muszę to śpię :| Ostatnio dużo rzeczy do skończenia. ;p

Sprawdziłem teraz dla pewności...

Zmieniłem maksymalną wersję na 2.1 ("use sendmessage = false"), prędkość odrazu spadła ~10MB/s. Wróciłem do wersji 1.0 i rozpędziło się do ~110MB/s

Może jest jakiś bug który tylko ujawnia się na moim pudełku i nie oryginalnej pamięci RAM

2. Pokaż logi z Kernela

dmesg | tail -n 50

3. Pokaż configi które edytowałeś (smb/cifs)
4. Zainstaluj i uruchom dstat (wymagany Optware):

ipkg install dstat
dstat --time --socket --vm --tcp --udp -cdgimnprsy --output /share/Public/dstat-log.csv

Wykonaj pomiar prędkości obu protokołów i zapamiętaj ich czasy. Otwórz w Excelu dstat-log.csv i oznacz zdarzenia testów SMB.

Witam,
Zmuszony jestem odgrzać kotleta. Mam podobny problem TS-231. Proces smbd obciąża procesor w 49% przy połączeniu jednego użytkownika. Wyłączyłem wszystkie opcje dodatkowe - właczony jedynie photo station, radius, smb w wersji 2.1, Raid 1.Przeglądanie struktury plików minuta, otwarcie excela 50kB to 3 minuty. W logach jedyny błąd to:
EXT2-fs (mtdblock5): error: can't find an ext2 filesystem on dev mtdblock5.
Nie widzę niczego nie pokojącego ani odnośnie raid, ani stanu dysków(przeszedł testy, dyski dobrane w/g tabeli producenta). Interfejs gigabitowy.
Dla sprawdzianu postawiłem obok drugi nas ale ts-212p (konfiguracja usług jak w ts-231) i chodzi świetnie.
