An example built with Bucket & Code Server IDE, called Console Monitors before: console monitors built from source (htop, btop, atop, Glances, iftop, nload, NetHogs, iotop, bmon, vnStat, mtr, nmon, ncdu, smartmontools, lm-sensors …). After install they run by name in an FAQ SSH login.

Install

Add the QNAP Utilities repository to App Center once, then install it from there: how to add the repository.

Screenshots

btop: CPU, memory, disks, network and processes in one terminal

htop: CPU and memory bars over the process list

Glances: system, network, disks, sensors and processes

Screenshot: btop; Screenshot: htop; Screenshot: Glances

What you can do

  • Watch processes and load in htop, btop, atop or Glances
  • See which process uses the disk with iotop, and what fills it with ncdu
  • Follow network traffic with iftop, nload, NetHogs and bmon
  • Read disk health with smartmontools and temperatures with lm-sensors
  • Trace a route with mtr

Who it is for

For people who look after a NAS over FAQ SSH.

Opening it

It has no web page: sign in over FAQ SSH and run a program by its name, such as htop or btop.
