Symptoms:
  • Get warning message in system Events log during start of rtorrent-Pro:
Both [Rdownload] and system-default [Download] share not found. Creating download base under [Public] share. RECOMMENDED: Manually create network share name [Rdownload] to define location of download base path on user selected disk volume or use system-default [Download] share instead if multimedia features are enabled in QTS system.

Cause
Both Rdownload and Download share is not available, not present or it's configuration is broken in the QTS.

Resolution:
Rtorrent-Pro operates normally. This is notification message only that download base location is under static Public and accessible for everyone share.
No action is required.

However it's higly recommended is to do not use Public share as a download base path and use user-defined Rdownload share (method A) or system-default Download share (method B).

Method A) Use user-defined Rdownload share as a download base path.
  1. Make sure to stop rtorrent-Pro first.
To do this, go to App Center and stop rtorrent-Pro
  2. Create network share "Rdownload"
In QTS go to Control Panel > Privilege > Shared Folders and click on Shared Folder tab, then bellow tab bar click on a Create button and select Shared Folder.
  3. Type in the fields:
    • Folder Name: Rdownload
    • Disk Volume: [select any dysk volume]
  4. Click Create button
  5. Go to App Center and start rtorrent-Pro again.

Method B) (Legacy) Using system-default Download share.
  1. Make sure multimedia features in QTS are enabled.
To enable multimedia features in QTS go to Control Panel > General Settings, then click on System Administration tab and uncheck:
    Disable and hide multimedia functions...
