Hi everyone!
I have a TS-451U 19" Rack NAS sitting in front of me on the "healing bench".
It died about a week ago and a lot of signs point to an SPI Flash as last chance of reviving it.

The n00b that i am, i would assume, that this binary is the closest fit and that this could help.
At my company we had 2 devices: serialnumber (n+16) => so... pretty much identical hardware.

A quick dmidecode -s bios-version revealed: QW87AR09
And now i'm not so sure, if it's a smart idea to flash this file "all willy nilly".
I mailed already to qnap-support, described the situation and asked for an BIOS File to flash via SPI,
but without success.

Any help is much appreciated!

When I tried updating the BIOS on my TS451A with the QW87AR10 file and adding the /ECUF flag, the batch fails with an error: "No EC blocks found in system ROM"

I removed that flag and used the default /GAN flags in the batch file and let it reboot.

Now there are no lights at all but I can feel the case vibrating so the drives are spinning.

Does that mean the DOM is dead?

KB - TS-X51 / TS-X53 Pro cannot shutdown
There is a known issue that TS-X51 / TS-X53 Pro cannot shutdown and it is solved with newer
version of BIOS. You can follow below steps to update BIOS.
Preparation:
  • Download package
    TS-X51 / TS-X53 Pro

  • Extract the compressed file, please upload below 2 files to shared folder, “Public”:
    flashrom, QW37AR36.BIN

Good day and HELP!

Got QNAP with QW37 Rev:2.0 mainboard which died just after Firmware update. It was working correctly before.
Please provide any links or tips about this issue.
It seems like it is not so uncommon but there's no clear solution to that problem.

I know this is an old thread - hopefull those searching for HS-251 will find my reply.

Hello, for those with the QNAP HS-251 the QW37AR36 did not work properly as it would only recognize the USB ports and not the Hard Drive bays. I could not find a version specific to the HS-251 so last attempt was to try QW37AR22 older version and it appears to work fine. For those with a bad/damaged DOM wanting to boot from USB you can create a linux boot (I used Mint) and installed flashrom utility. Flashed the QW37AR22 with flashrom from linux command line and seems fine now all drives are recognized by OMV software.
FYI - If you have original bios for HS-251 do not turn off USB3 options or all USB ports will not function during boot so you can not get into the BIOS with f2 or del anymore. Better would be to use flashrom and make a copy of your BIOS for safe keeping before making any changes.

Ti chiedo aiuto per una scheda QW37 Rev: 2.0 di fujitsu con chip bios W25Q64FW, la scheda si accende e si spegne e si accende ma non succede niente nessun bip e uscita HDMI, ho riprogrammato il chip W25Q64FW con un programmatore inserendo il file QW37AR22. bin e inserendo il file F_TS-X53 sul DOM ma non succede ancora nulla.
Grazie per eventuali suggerimenti.
PS Pensi che il chip fujitsu sia protetto da scrittura?
